Esquie's Nest (Short 3), Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in a Belle Époque-inspired world, where a mysterious Paintress erases people of a specific age annually. Players lead Expedition 33, a desperate mission to stop her before "33" is painted. Esquie's Nest is a pivotal, albeit brief, area players traverse, introducing the fun-loving character Esquie. Approached from Gestral Village, a large face adorns the sky. Upon arrival, a checkpoint offers rest and upgrades. Exploration reveals items like a Colour of Lumina and an encounter with a large Gestral. Players navigate ramps and corridors, sliding down to fight a Pétank for valuable upgrade items. A central bridge leads to a Mime encounter, yielding a "Baguette" outfit for Sciel. The main path leads to Esquie, then his neighbor, François, a boss battle featuring a devastating ice attack requiring precise parrying. Defeating François awards the "Augmented First Strike" Pictos. Further exploration uncovers another Colour of Lumina, an "Expedition 66" journal, and the "Energising Start III" Pictos. Completing the area allows players to mount Esquie, enabling access to new areas. The first of Sastro's Lost Gestrals and a quest item for Gustave's "Pure" outfit are also found here.
