Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion, a rol-playing game, plunges us into a flooded Land of Ooo. Finn and Jake, our favorite heroes, wake to find their world submerged, the Ice Kingdom melted. Their quest to fix things begins with a boat, leading them through familiar lands and gathering allies like BMO and Marceline, all while fending off pirates and uncovering a plot by Princess Bubblegum’s scheming relatives. The gameplay blends sailing exploration, much like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, with simple, turn-based combat, perfect for newcomers to the genre. Each character brings unique skills to the table, from Jake’s transformations to Marceline’s stealth, and even a fun “Interrogation Time” minigame that captures the show’s humor. In the game, "22. Reach the Core" is a key moment. It begins with a troubled Flame Princess in the Fire Kingdom. Her core is cooling down because of all the water, so she asks Finn and Jake to investigate. To get to the Core room, there’s a puzzle in the antechamber. Players have to light several braziers using a lit one. Once all are lit, a blue flame appears, which must be carried to a specific brazier near the sealed door to open it. Inside the Core room, Finn’s grass doppelgänger, Fern, reveals he sabotaged the kingdom’s valves on the main villain’s orders, as a distraction. As his “present,” Fern summons a massive Fire Giant, a tough level 10 boss with 16,000 HP. This giant is mostly immune to attacks unless it’s inflicted with the "boggle" status effect. Jake's "Twister" special attack is the way to do this. Once boggled, the giant attacks and then exposes a weak spot. This is when players must hit it hard with their strongest moves. Attacking before it’s boggled just makes it put up a shield. After defeating the giant, Flame Princess explains that her relative, Torcho, is the only one powerful enough to reheat the core. He’s exiled on Firebreak Island, so Finn and Jake set off to find him, continuing their mission to save Ooo.
