One important task for players in this game is to "Find Marceline & Return Marci's hat." This happens after Finn and Jake start their investigation into the flooded Ooo. They head to the Candy Kingdom and talk to Admiral Candy Corn. He tells them Princess Bubblegum was with Marceline at the back of the castle. Finn and Jake go there and find Marceline hiding. She tells them that someone kidnapped the Princess and stole her hat, throwing it in the water. Because Marceline is a vampire, she can't go out in the sun without her hat, so she can't chase after the kidnapper herself. She says she'll help find Princess Bubblegum if they bring back her hat. The next step for the players is to get that hat back. They see it floating on a small island nearby. After jumping across to the island, they grab the hat. But on their way back, they get attacked by some banana guards, which they have to fight. Once those guards are beaten, the players can go back to Marceline. When they give her the wet hat, she's really happy and can now go out in the sun. She joins the party as a playable character and thanks them by telling them where the kidnapper took Princess Bubblegum: towards the Evil Forest. This gives Finn and Jake their next big mission, which is to sail to the Evil Forest and keep looking for the princess.
