It’s a first-person shooter that adds to the rich Borderlands lore, explaining how a seemingly normal Hyperion employee becomes the tyrannical figure we know from Borderlands 2. The game keeps the series' signature cel-shaded look and dark humor, but introduces cool new features like fighting in low gravity, which lets you jump higher and farther, changing how battles feel. You also need to manage your oxygen with Oz kits, which is a neat survival mechanic for space combat. New elemental damage types, like cryo for freezing enemies and lasers, add more tactical options to the already wild weapon variety. Flameknuckle is the very first boss you face in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and he’s a great introduction to the game’s mechanics. This guy’s a pyromaniac rocking a big, flamethrowing robot suit. The fight has two parts. First, he’s in his mech, throwing punches and fire. The trick here is to let Jack distract him so you can shoot the fuel tank and cockpit on his back. Just remember, he’s immune to cold and fire damage at this stage. Keep your distance; he might focus on other robots or Jack, giving you a clear shot. Once you’ve done enough damage to the mech, Flameknuckle gets tossed out. He scrambles to a box nearby, and more enemies start showing up. In this second part, he’s much more vulnerable, so you need to take him down fast before you get swarmed by his backup. Aim for his head for critical damage to end the fight quickly. If you’re looking to get the legendary Torgue rocket launcher, the Nukem, Flameknuckle has a good chance of dropping it, especially in True Vault Hunter Mode. While you can’t farm him directly on Helios Station after the fight, a clone appears in The Holodome, giving you another shot at that powerful weapon.
