The magic of "What the Duck" lies in a clever twist: early on, a Dark Teensy zaps Rayman, transforming him into a duck. This isn't just a visual change; it fundamentally alters the gameplay. As a duck, Rayman loses his signature punch and many of his other offensive moves, leaving him with only basic running, jumping, and gliding. This forces players to rethink their approach and rely on different skills to succeed. To help players overcome this new limitation, the game introduces a crucial cooperative element with Murfy. In this level, Murfy’s primary role is to eat through giant cakes that block the player’s path, something the duck-Rayman cannot do. On certain platforms, a second player can directly control Murfy, adding a layer of coordination. Otherwise, Murfy’s actions are prompted by the player. This ingenious mechanic ensures that even with limited abilities, players can still progress, making for a unique and engaging experience.
