The environment grows darker, and the threat of Dark Sentries, robotic guards with searching red beams, introduces a stealthy element. As the level progresses, players find themselves in a secret agent-style underwater base. Here, the enemies are Underwater Toads in scuba gear, armed with weapons and posing a constant threat. Navigating this base involves swimming through narrow passages, dodging mines, and evading enemy fire, all set to a thrilling score that evokes classic spy movies. Hidden paths within the dark foreground offer rewards for the observant. The "invaded" version of this level adds a timed challenge, reversing the level and using water currents to boost speed, forcing players to race against the clock.
