Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in a Belle Époque-inspired world, where a mysterious "Paintress" annually erases people of a certain age, a phenomenon called the "Gommage." Players lead Expedition 33 to destroy the Paintress and end this cycle before their own numbered age is erased. Flying Waters, encountered in Act I, is a mystical region paradoxically resembling an ocean floor, yet traversable as land. Fish swim through the air amidst bubbles and water jets, creating an ethereal, aquatic ambiance. This unique environment is where the ill-fated Expedition 68 met their doom. Players explore the wreckage, discover "Paint Cages" yielding rare loot, and confront new enemy types like the swift Luster and mine-wielding Demineurs. A key location is The Manor, where Maelle is reunited with the party, and the enigmatic Curator offers guidance. Optional bosses and side quests enrich the exploration, leading to the Flower Field and the area's main boss, Goblu.
