Gone are his usual round and puffy appearance, now he's a cube-shaped version of himself, complete with a button for an eye and a zipper for a mouth. And let's not forget the little crown on his head, which looks like it could have been made by a kindergartener. Sorry King, but your royal fashion sense could use some improvement. As he starts to talk, you can't help but be amused by his deep and regal voice, which is now replaced with a high-pitched and squeaky one. It's almost as if he inhaled a helium balloon before making his appearance. And his dialogue, oh his dialogue. He tries so hard to sound intimidating and serious, but it just comes out as comical and endearing. It's hard to take him seriously when he's made of yarn and his throne is made of buttons. But don't let his appearance and silly antics fool you, King Dedede is still a force to be reckoned with. He may not have his usual hammer to fight with, but he's got yarn balls and a bottomless pit at his disposal. And let's not forget his signature move – the belly flop. It's hilarious to see him try to do it, as he just ends up bouncing around like a deflated beach ball. All in all, King Dedede's appearance in Scene 1 of Kirby's Epic Yarn may not be his most intimidating, but it's definitely one of the most memorable.
