The Sewers - Welcome to Sewers | Stray

*Stray* is an adventure game where players embody a lost cat navigating a decaying cybercity populated by robots. The journey begins with an accidental fall into a deep chasm, separating the feline protagonist from its family and leading it into a walled, post-apocalyptic metropolis. This city, influenced by Kowloon Walled City, is a character in itself, with neon-lit alleys and dense, layered environments designed for feline agility. The Sewers chapter presents a stark shift in atmosphere. Moving away from the more vertical Slums, this subterranean level is a linear, yet treacherous, descent into darkness. Accompanied initially by the robot Momo, players must navigate damp tunnels filled with the ever-present threat of Zurks, the game’s primary antagonists. These swarming creatures emerge from pulsating eggs and require the use of the Defluxor, a UV-like weapon, for their elimination. The environment becomes increasingly oppressive, with narrow passages and open chambers teeming with Zurk nests, punctuated by unsettling organic matter and watching eyes. Puzzles focus on environmental traversal and mechanism activation, often under duress from the creatures. The chapter culminates in a frantic, solo chase sequence against a massive horde, testing the cat's pure speed and agility. Emerging from the ventilation shaft, players leave the perilous Sewers behind, having faced a significant trial in their quest to reach the surface.
