Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in a Belle Époque France-inspired world, where a mysterious Paintress erases people by painting a number signifying their age. Players lead Expedition 33 on a desperate mission to stop her. The Paintress boss fight is a challenging, multi-phase encounter culminating the arduous journey. Initially, players face the Curatress with various elemental and status-inflicting attacks. The second phase introduces the Paintress herself, unleashing reality-bending projectiles and aggressive combos while the Curatress heals. Players must manage "Cursed Chroma" by destroying spawned orbs. Finally, a repentant Curatress aids the party, allowing them to defeat the weakened Paintress, breaking the Gommage cycle and earning powerful rewards.
