Description
World of Goo 2 is a charming and inventive physics-based puzzle game where players use various types of "Goo Balls" to build structures like bridges and towers. The goal is to guide a minimum number of these goo balls to an exit pipe, utilizing the unique properties of each goo type and the game's flexible physics engine. The sequel expands on the original with new goo species, fluid physics, and a new story across over 60 levels.
Within the first chapter, "The Long Juicy Road," the tenth level is called "Pachinkgoo." This level highlights the new Launcher mechanic. Launchers act like artillery, capable of firing either Product Goo balls or liquid. These can be manually aimed Ball Launchers, often depicted as light gray with an eye, or automatic versions. Liquid Launchers are typically pink or dark red, sometimes incorporating tentacles, connecting them to the chapter's squid theme. Both types are fueled by Conduit Goo Balls. Images of the level show both a Liquid Launcher and a Ball Launcher working in tandem, suggesting players will need to utilize both to navigate the level and guide the goo.
Like all levels in World of Goo 2, Pachinkgoo includes Optional Completion Distinctions, or OCDs, for players seeking extra challenges. These are not required to finish the level but offer additional objectives. For Pachinkgoo, the three OCDs are collecting 144 or more Goo Balls, completing the level in 14 moves or fewer, or finishing within 45 seconds. These varied objectives encourage players to approach the level in different ways, testing their ability to gather resources efficiently, build with minimal moves, or execute a speedy solution, adding replayability and a sense of mastery to the Pachinkgoo level.
