Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep
Description
Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is a celebrated expansion for Borderlands 2, taking the core looter-shooter gameplay and wrapping it in a whimsical fantasy setting as the player participates in a chaotic session of "Bunkers & Badasses," the Borderlands equivalent of Dungeons & Dragons, run by the titular character Tiny Tina. The DLC retains the first-person shooter combat and extensive loot system but replaces the usual sci-fi enemies and environments with skeletons, orcs, dragons, and medieval locales, all filtered through Tina's unpredictable imagination.
Within this fantasy world lies the optional side mission "MMORPGFPS," given by the bombastic Mr. Torgue in the Immortal Woods. The mission's title is a clear nod to online gaming culture, humorously blending MMORPG and FPS genres. Initially, the player is tasked with eliminating a monster in a crypt, only to find three other "gamer" characters – xxDatVaultHuntrxx, 420 E-Sports Masta, and [720NoScope]Headshotz – already present, claiming the kill. These stereotypical online players contribute little to the fight against the initial Skeleton Swordsman, and frustratingly, they take credit for the kill once the player defeats it.
Mr. Torgue, equally annoyed by this kill-stealing, tasks the player with making the three gamers "rage quit." This involves defeating each character twice using specific, trope-based methods. xxDatVaultHuntrxx requires being killed and then "teabagged" twice by crouching over his fallen body. 420 E-Sports Masta must be finished off with a melee attack twice, regardless of how his health is lowered beforehand. [720NoScope]Headshotz must be defeated twice by landing the killing blow with a headshot from a sniper rifle, playing into her name and the "720 no-scope" online gaming maneuver. If a gamer is defeated incorrectly, they simply respawn until the required method is used. Once all three gamers have been successfully made to "rage quit" by meeting their specific conditions twice each, a final, tougher monster appears. Defeating this enemy completes the mission, rewarding the player with experience, money, and typically a powerful blue-rarity rocket launcher. This quest serves as a humorous commentary on certain aspects of online multiplayer gaming culture within the imaginative framework of Tiny Tina's Bunkers & Badasses campaign.
