Plants vs. Zombies, a strategy game from 2009, challenges players to defend their home from zombies by planting a variety of vegetation. Players gather sun to buy plants like the Peashooter for offense or the Wall-nut for defense. Zombies advance in lanes, and if they reach the house, a lawnmower clears the path once. Each level is a grid, and if a zombie makes it to the end of a lane twice, the game is lost. The game features 50 levels in its Adventure mode, including unique settings like the rooftop. There are also Mini-Games, Puzzle, and Survival modes, plus a Zen Garden for growing plants. Level 5 of the Roof stage in Plants vs. Zombies, which is the 45th level overall, introduces a unique conveyor belt system. Using Pumpkins to shield Chompers is vital for their continued offense. Spreading Chompers across the roof helps prevent a mass attack by Bungee Zombies. Cherry Bombs are best reserved for emergencies when facing overwhelming waves of zombies. Upon completing Roof, Level 5, players earn the Garlic plant, which can divert zombies to different lanes in future levels.
