Plants vs. Zombies
ລາຍລະອຽດ
Plants vs. Zombies, which came out on May 5, 2009, for computers, is a tower defense game that's both strategic and funny. You're defending your house from zombies using different plants that attack and defend. Zombies come in lines, and you use plants to stop them before they reach your house.
To get plants, you need "sun," which comes from plants like Sunflowers or falls from the sky. Each plant has its own job, like the Peashooter that shoots, the Cherry Bomb that explodes, or the Wall-nut that blocks. Zombies are also different, with their own strengths, so you need to change your plan. The game is on a grid, and if a zombie gets through, a lawnmower clears that line once. If another zombie gets through the same line, you lose.
The main part of the game has 50 levels in different places like day, night, fog, a pool, and a rooftop, each with new challenges and plants. There are also Mini-Games, Puzzle, and Survival modes for more fun. You can also grow plants in your Zen Garden to get money for special plants and tools from Crazy Dave.
George Fan started making Plants vs. Zombies because he wanted a game like his older one, Insaniquarium, but more about defense. Games like Magic: The Gathering and Warcraft III, and even the movie Swiss Family Robinson, gave him ideas. Fan and a small team at PopCap Games worked for three and a half years on it. Rich Werner was the artist, Tod Semple programmed, and Laura Shigihara made the catchy music.
When it came out, Plants vs. Zombies was praised for its funny art, fun gameplay, and great music. It became PopCap Games' fastest-selling game ever. It was later brought to many other devices like phones and gaming consoles. Electronic Arts (EA) bought PopCap Games in 2011.
EA expanded the Plants vs. Zombies world. PopCap Games continued to make the main games, but other studios helped with spin-offs like the Garden Warfare shooter games. The game also has comic books that tell more of its story.
The success of the first game led to sequels and spin-offs like Plants vs. Zombies 2, a free mobile game, and Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, a card game. The Garden Warfare series became a multiplayer shooter. A remastered version with better graphics is coming out in 2025. This shows how the original game's great design and lasting appeal keep attracting players.
Roof, Level 3 in Plants vs. Zombies is a tough challenge and a key part of the game's adventure mode. It's the third level of the last section, making it Level 5-3 overall, and it really tests your skills.
The big thing about roof levels is the slope. This means plants that shoot straight, like Peashooters, don't work well because their shots can't go over the slope. You have to use plants that shoot in an arc. Also, you can't plant directly on the roof; you need Flower Pots for everything.
A new problem in Roof, Level 3 is the Ladder Zombie. This zombie carries a ladder and can climb over plants like Wall-nuts, getting past your defenses. Once a ladder is on a plant, other zombies can use it. You need to be ready to dig up and replace the plant, or use quick-kill plants like the Squash or Jalapeno to stop the Ladder Zombie before it can use its ladder.
To beat Roof, Level 3, you need to get a lot of sun. Planting Sunflowers in the back is important for this. Then, using Cabbage-pults in one or two rows is a good way to attack. Their lobbed shots are perfect for the roof and can hit zombies across the lawn. Some players also use Kernel-pults with Cabbage-pults because their butter can sometimes slow down zombies.
To defend against the zombies, including the Ladder Zombie, a row of Wall-nuts is usually placed a bit back, each in its own flower pot, to protect your attacking plants. Chompers can be used in the fourth row to deal with Ladder Zombies, but they take a while to eat. It's safer to have instant-use plants like the Squash and Jalapeno ready for emergencies. Bungee Zombies might show up in the last wave, dropping more zombies, adding another layer of difficulty.
When you win Roof, Level 3, you get the Coffee Bean. This item lets you use mushroom plants, which normally only work at night, during the day by "waking them up." This greatly improves your strategy for the rest of the game. Winning this level shows you know how to defend the rooftop and gives you a tool for the final fight against Dr. Zomboss.
