"Plants vs. Zombies" is a classic tower defense game that first came out in 2009. It's all about using different kinds of plants to stop a bunch of zombies from reaching your house. You have to strategically place your plants, which all do different things, like shoot peas or explode. The zombies are also varied, and you need to figure out the best plants to counter them. You collect "sun" to buy and plant your defenses, and if a zombie gets too far, a lawnmower saves the day, but only once per lane. If a second one gets through, you lose. The game's adventure mode has 50 levels, and they take place in different environments like day, night, fog, a pool, and a rooftop, each with new challenges and plants. Besides the main story, there are other fun modes like Mini-Games, Puzzles, and Survival. You can even grow plants in a Zen Garden to earn money for special items from Crazy Dave. Night, Level 1, also known as Level 2-1, is the first taste of nighttime defense in "Plants vs. Zombies." It's a big change because the sun doesn't fall from the sky anymore. You have to rely on new plants. The most important change is how you get sun. Since sunflowers don't produce sun at night, you get the Sun-shroom. It starts slow but eventually gives as much sun as a regular sunflower. To help you right away, you get the Puff-shroom. This little mushroom costs no sun, so you can place a bunch of them to stop the first zombies. They don't do a lot of damage individually, but a lot of them can hold off the basic zombies. You also start seeing gravestones on the lawn. They block your plants, and later on, zombies will pop out of them. The zombies in this first night level are pretty basic. You'll see regular zombies and the Newspaper Zombie, which has a shield that makes it move faster when broken. But don't worry, the tougher zombies like the Conehead and Buckethead ones aren't here yet. Sometimes, zombies will drop money, which is good because you can use it to buy upgrades from Crazy Dave. Basically, Night, Level 1, is your introduction to playing defense in the dark. It makes you think differently about how to use your sun and plan your defenses.
