Ancient Sanctuary (Short 4), Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in Belle Époque France, where players lead Expedition 33 to destroy the mysterious Paintress, who annually erases people of a certain age. The Ancient Sanctuary, a pivotal early-game region, is introduced by distinctive red and white flora. After an initial flag and confronting evasive Pétank enemies, players navigate a complex Sanctuary Maze. This area features challenging Ranger and Catapult Sakapatate encounters, numerous hidden collectibles like Pictos and Chromas, and an optional Mime boss. A unique Paint Cage with three shootable locks provides further exploration and rewards. The Sanctuary culminates in Giant Bell Alley with a formidable Ultimate Sakapatate boss, weak to fire. Defeating it yields vital upgrades and opens the path to Gestral Village, continuing the expedition.
