Monoco's Station (Short 5), Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in Belle Époque France, where players lead Expedition 33 to stop the Paintress from erasing humanity. Monoco’s Station is a pivotal snowy train station where the party recruits the shapeshifting Gestral warrior, Monoco. Upon arrival, players face a challenging boss battle against Monoco, who transforms into Nevron enemies. Immediately after, a fight against the Stalact, an ice beast, introduces the crucial Gradient Attack system. Defeating these foes officially brings Monoco into the fold. The station then transforms into a small hub, offering quests, gear from the Grandis Merchant, and cosmetic rewards from the Grandis Fashionist, including the "Pure" outfit. Monoco himself is unique, learning new skills by defeating Nevron enemies, making backtracking essential for his progression via his Bestial Wheel and various masks.
