This involves the resurrection of his "birdmunculus" navigator, Polly, by gathering her scattered parts—an eyepatch, flappers, and squawker—and defeating a formidable Badass Bone Crab and Mobley Dick for the final component. Following Polly's revival, Bones tasks the player with reuniting his former crew, who are under a strange "plot armor" curse. This leads to a series of humorous encounters, including a duel of insults with the First Mate and a balloon-popping airship battle to recruit the Swabbie and Cabin Boy. The chapter culminates in raising Bones' ship, the Marley Maiden, by defeating members of Chartreuse LeChance's crew for crucial parts.
