Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in a Belle Époque-inspired world, where players lead an expedition to stop the "Paintress" from annually erasing people from existence. The Évêque, a recurring boss, first appears at the Indigo Tree as a hybrid Lancelier/Abbest. This initial encounter introduces shield mechanics, requiring players to target its glowing chest weak point after breaking its eight shields. The Évêque absorbs Earth attacks but is vulnerable to Ice. It summons spears, spikes, and later, Abbest minions when threatened. As the fight progresses, it enrages, charging a devastating ground-spike spell that necessitates quick shield breaks and concentrated damage on its exposed core. Success yields valuable rewards, including the Cleansing Tint Pictos. Different elemental Évêque variants with unique weaknesses and resistances appear throughout the game, culminating in multi-Évêque battles, showcasing this boss as a versatile and challenging foe.
