Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in Belle Époque France, where a mysterious Paintress annually erases people by age. Players lead Expedition 33 to stop her before "33" is painted. Gameplay blends turn-based combat with real-time dodges, parries, and targeted attacks. The optional boss, Bourgeon, is a towering, lanky Nevron found in the Flying Waters region. This boss is vulnerable to Lightning damage, making Gustave's Overcharge and Lune's Thunderfall vital. Bourgeon unleashes various attacks: spitting Miasma projectiles that exhaust party members, multiple fist slams, and a devastating swallow ability that removes an expeditioner from combat. Successfully parrying or dodging its timed attacks, like the one-second interval between slam hits or the Miasma's knee-level passage, is crucial.
