Seeing an opportunity for revenge and wealth, they scheme to intercept the deal using ten million dollars wired by Vaughn. They crash land on Pandora, facing immediate threats from bandits. A pivotal sequence involves summoning a Loader Bot, where the player makes choices influencing its abilities and eventual fate after it helps fend off attackers. This chaotic arrival sets the stage for Rhys and Vaughn to head towards the "World of Curiosities," their planned meeting point for the Vault Key exchange, unknowingly heading for a collision with Fiona and her group. This opening chapter effectively grounds the player in Rhys's perspective, motivations, and the abrupt, violent transition from corporate life to the harsh Pandoran surface.
